Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT), the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) / International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE) and Cablefax today named Theresa Hennesy the prestigious 2016 Women in Technology Award honoree. Hennesy, the Senior Vice President, Group Technical Advisor for Comcast Cable, is one of the most highly regarded professionals in cable technology.

 The Women in Technology Award was first launched in 1995 to recognize and honor leading women in cable technology. The annual award lauds the achievements of one woman who demonstrates outstanding professional achievement and significantly contributes to the advancement of the cable telecommunications industry.
 
“We are proud to honor Theresa with this well-deserved award. Throughout her career, she has led technology developments and supported women in the technology sector, paving the way for others to follow in her footsteps,” said Maria E. Brennan, CAE, President & CEO of WICT.

The 2015 winner, Vibha Rustagi, the CEO of itaas, a Cognizant Company, will present the 2016 Women in Technology Award during the Annual Awards Luncheon at SCTE/ISBE Cable-Tec Expo®, September 26-29 in Philadelphia, PA. As the 2016 Women in Technology Award recipient, Hennesy will be featured in an upcoming issue of Cablefax with an article detailing her numerous accomplishments.
