WICT Greater Philadelphia Mentoring Partnership Program

The WICT Greater Philadelphia Mentoring Partnership Program (MPP) is a structured program that includes class time, self-study, scheduled mentoring meetings, phone calls, and relationship building opportunities with an emphasis on personal and leadership development.  It is a great opportunity for both emerging and established professional to engage in personal and professional development through a fromalized mentoring relationship.

The goal of the MPP is to be a catalyst for professional and personal development by connecting leaders within the cable and telecommunications industry as mentors who will listen to their mentees, inspire them to be their best self and assist them with their career advancement strategies and other important aspects of their lives.  Committed, top-level industry professionals are recruited to serve as mentors to WICT members for a nine-month period.  In these one-to-one sessions, mentors provide support, guidance and career advice to leverage the WICT touchstones.

As a Mentee, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Enhance your leadership skills
  • Expand your knowledge and understanding of the industry
  • Gain greater confidence in your professional effectiveness
  • Increase your network of industry contacts
  • Learn new perspectives and problem-solving methods

Any WICT member director level and below can apply to participate in the program through an application process.  The mentoring program fee will cost $175 per mentee. For more information, contact our Mentoring Chairwomen: Melinda Yablonski or Marietta Obfenda.  The Mentoring Chairs will serve as the primary point of contact to both mentors and mentees in the program. They will work closely with Tracey_Kopper, Mentoring Advisor, to develop the materials and program content.

Mentors

We will be contacting former mentors and new industry leaders director level and above to participate in the 2013 Mentoring Partnership Program. The mentoring relationship serves both the mentees and the mentors. Mentors can pay-it-forward by leveraging their experiences, wisdom and networks to assist mentees with their professional and personal goals. We hope to build a diverse group of dedicated mentors.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact the Mentoring Chairwomen: Melinda Yablonski or Marietta Obfenda
