Meet Latonya – Director, Competitive Insights, XCS Strategy and Planning at Comcast!
Describe your role & what you love about it.

I lead up our competitive intelligence collection efforts.  This involves tracking our competitors’ strategic and tactical activity and reporting back the most relevant insights so that Comcast teams are prepared to respond.  It’s like being a archaeologist, private detective and news reporter all in one role.  I love this job because no two days are the same.  That is exciting.

How have other women inspired you or helped shape your career?

I’ve gotten to work with a very talented and diverse set of women throughout my career, from senior leaders, to peers, to administrators. I have been able to stay connected with several of them as mentors and as friends.  It has been great to have a close circle of “guidance counselors” to help me gut-check personal and professional decisions.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I have a degree in library and information science. And even though I’ve never formally worked as a librarian, I still use these skills every day in my current job.  And the field has a very strong legacy of female leadership which has always inspired me.  Oh, and I’m a big nerd — science fiction, technology, trivia — you name it!

Why do you think WICT is important?

WICT is important because it provides a safe, supportive place that allows its members to learn, grow, thrive and give back.
