Congratulations to WICT Greater Philadelphia on winning several awards from National!
Each year the national organization of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT) recognizes exemplary local chapters with key leadership awards. Last week WICT announced the winners across the 21 local chapters, and the Philadelphia Chapter was honored with three awards:
Chapter Advisor of the Year
Jennifer Yohe Wagner, SVP Procurement, Comcast, was named Chapter Advisor of the Year for her outstanding leadership and overall commitment to the success of the chapter. Jennifer has served as the WICT Philadelphia Chapter Adviser for over three years. Prior to this role, Jennifer was an Executive Champion on the Board. Jennifer’s continued support and guidance, including championing new programs, has enhanced the organization and has directly benefited members. Specifically, in 2016, Jennifer was instrumental in establishing a new membership renewal process for Comcast members on a national level. She also worked with the Board to enhance the scholarship program by identifying new opportunities and increasing scholarship offerings by 25 percent.
2016 Chapter Community Service Award
WICT Philadelphia received the Community Service Award for their annual fundraiser and awards banquet WICT Philly Gives Back (WPGB). The event raises money for the chapter’s scholarship fund and for Girls Inc., The WICT scholarship fund assists women in the industry to attend programs to further their careers. Girls Inc. [link] is a national organization that encourages young girls to be smart, strong, and bold and fosters an interest in STEM careers.
WPGB also honors outstanding women in the cable industry who are making a difference and paving the way for future women leaders.
2016 Inspire Award
The Inspire award recognizes chapters who go above and beyond to bring more value to members, and who exceed the expectations set by WICT National’s model chapter guidelines.
