Virtual Networking with Industry Influencers
Friday, June 19, 2020
9:00 – 10:00AM ET
Bring your own breakfast to our first virtual roundtable networking event.
This is an opportunity to engage with friendly faces and tap into the expertise of industry leaders. We’ll get to know each other and discuss a wide variety of topics to help you navigate your career, including best practices for working remotely—and anything else you want to bring up. You’ll share a virtual table with a group of up to 10 other attendees for the full hour, and the table leads will rotate every 10 minutes to keep the conversations fresh with new perspectives.

SCTE/ISBE has quickly pivoted its annual Cable-Tec Expo conference to a digital event, unfurling October 12-16.
Comcast, Charter, and Cox will sponsor the event, which will be free to all attendees.
Late last month, the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers announced the cancellation of their physical event, as Denver’s Colorado Convention Center has been reconfigured as temporary hospital space for a potential COVID-19 spike through the remainder of 2020.
Meet Lauren: Senior Manager, Experience Design Operations at Comcast!
What do you love most about your job?
The people. I remind myself daily how lucky I am to work with such a talented group. I love that I can handle the business end of an organization so our designers can concentrate on being creative and strategic. Experience Design collaborates with leaders and teams across Comcast-NBCUniversal-Sky to create exceptional experiences that leave lasting impressions, improve daily lives and foster long-term customer relationships.
How have other women helped shape your career?
I have had the opportunity to work with many strong, powerful, intelligent women, all from whom I have learned something. In the end, the woman who helped shaped my career the most was my mother. She has always been my strongest supporter, mentor and best friend. She has lifted me up when I thought I wasn’t good enough and talked me through stressful moments I didn’t know I could handle.
Outside of work, what’s something you’re passionate about?
I take all the creative vibes from everyone I work with and put them to use at home. I love to paint, sew, craft, basically any kind of “project.” Most of all, I live for fashion!
What do you value most about your WICT membership?
What it has done for me and my career. I joined WICT seven years ago and immediately applied to be on the board because I believed in the mission. With WICT, titles or levels don’t seem to exist. That made me feel comfortable with my voice and allowed me to speak up and be more confident with my job. I am forever grateful to WICT for alleviating my imposter syndrome!
