Meet Irina – Accountant at Comcast!
Describe your role & what you love about it.
My mother is a brilliant economist and worked for many years as President of a bank at a time when similar positions were mostly filled by men. She consistently encourages me to work hard and to pursue opportunities for advancement. In addition, I am fortunate to be on a team with strong female leadership who have inspired me to challenge myself and to seek out additional opportunities outside of my comfort zone.
How have other women inspired you or helped shape your career?
I am an Accountant in the Cable Cash Management team. I enjoy analyzing and interpreting accounting data, resolving complex transactions, reconciliations and system discrepancies. Also, addressing opportunities for process improvements or to gain efficiencies, and utilizing best practices to design and develop procedures makes my job even more interesting and challenging.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
Not many people know that I lived in three countries, Russia, Japan, and the US, and I speak three languages – Russian, Japanese and English.
Why do you think WICT is important?
WICT provides their members with fantastic learning and networking opportunities, which allow them to grow and develop in areas outside of their day to day responsibilities. The women I’ve met through WICT are smart, kind and collaborative.
