Welcome to 2023!
I am so excited to be the 2023-2024 President of The WICT Network: Greater Philadelphia. It is an honor and privilege to follow in the footsteps of amazing leaders who have come before me. Specifically, Carol Ann Sweeney. Carol Ann served as President during the global pandemic, which were definitely “unprecedented times”. Under her direction, the chapter didn’t just survive, it thrived. We increased sponsorship dollars and participation, exceeded new membership goals and instituted new programs geared toward increasing engagement by college students and executive members.
Carol Ann set a high bar, but she also prepared me for the challenge. I am grateful for her leadership, her mentorship and her friendship.
There is a quote by Dr. Nido Qubein that says, “change brings opportunity”. Our industry has gone through so many changes in the past few years, but we are kicking off 2023 focusing on the opportunities ahead of us.
We have an opportunity to help transform the cable, media and entertainment industries.
We have an opportunity to continue to develop, support and uplift women.
We have an opportunity to provide support and resources for those who are transitioning roles/companies.
We have an opportunity to increase diversity and inclusion in our industry.
