Straight Talk: Getting Real About Mental Health

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, mental illnesses are common in the United States affecting tens of millions of people each year. Estimates suggest that only half of people with mental illnesses receive treatment*. No matter how much we talk about it, there is still stigma attached to mental health. We hope to remove some of that stigma and replace it empowerment and education so that we can all become an ally in helping people cope with mental health and wellness.

This month, we had the pleasure of having our WICT Network of Greater Philadelphia Vice President, Yvette Thornton interviewing, the Reverend Dr. Kisha James Hartwick, who is a minister, practicing psychiatrist and professor. Listen in as these two women ask and answer relevant and everyday questions about mental health wellness.
