Meet our Panelists:
Rich Woundy
Richard Woundy is an Engineer 8 in the GTO Strategic Architecture & Technology (SAT) organization, where he collaborates with senior leadership on long range technology strategy with a particular focus on Network as a Service. Previously, he was a Vice President for several Comcast departments as well as a Comcast Fellow. Some of his previous projects include working on long range planning, building Comcast’s original mobile billing platform, transforming the mobile buy flow and fulfillment platforms, growing the home security platform, building a platform architecture team, re-imagining broadband congestion management, architecting broadband and voice provisioning platforms, and leading standards work at CableLabs and the IETF.
Theresa Hennesy
Theresa is a former Senior Vice President in the cable and telecommunications industry with extensive experience in technology leadership. For six years, she served on the Board of Directors of Somos, Inc., a leading provider of toll-free numbering and registry management services, where she contributed to governance and executive compensation strategy. She is strongly committed to promoting women and girls in technology and STEM fields.
Leslie Chapman
Leslie Chapman is an Engineering Fellow at Comcast, a title that reflects the breadth of her influence and impact within the company. In her 20 years in the software engineering industry, Leslie has risen from a junior engineer to one of the most esteemed technical leaders, a role analogous to a Vice President in the individual contributor (IC) career path.
A trailblazer and notable a BENgineers Executive Sponsor, Leslie has been instrumental in shaping Comcast’s technology landscape. As a Fellow, Leslie plays a dual role. Her first is driving company-wide strategy by aligning technical innovation with Comcast’s broader vision and goals. Her second, mentoring and growing the next generation of Distinguished Engineers (DE) and Fellows, serving as a force multiplier for innovation and leadership across the organization.
Her work extends beyond Comcast’s walls, as Leslie contributes to the engineering community through public speaking, technical publications, and volunteer work. She is passionate about inspiring and supporting technologists, especially young women to pursue careers in technology while actively volunteering with organizations that teach coding to the next generation of women leaders in tech.
Through her technical expertise, strategic insight, and commitment to mentorship, Leslie Chapman embodies the art of leadership and innovation that drives both her company and the tech industry forward.
