Carol Preston

Director, Accounting at Comcast Advertising

Throughout her career as a finance and accounting leader, Carol Preston has earned the reputation as a problem solver and process champion. From newly launched departments to multibillion-dollar divisions, she is an agile leader who seamlessly pivots her financial stewardship between existing businesses and forward-thinking products and services.

Carol is also an advocate for leadership development, encouraging female talent to pursue careers in the industry. She was one of 100 top performers selected among Comcast Advertising peers to lead an internal leadership group. She is also a mentor for the company’s Finance DE&I/Culture Ambassador Mentorship Program and a member of the Women’s Network. She has also sponsored multiple employees participating in the Comcast Advertising finance job-swap gig program. As a member of WICT, Carol is a graduate of the WICT Rising Leaders Program and EDS (Executive Development Series). She serves as a long-time member of the Philadelphia Chapter Board, where she has served in a number of leadership roles including Student Outreach & Scholarship Director, Membership Chair, and Sponsorship Chair.

Today, as Director of Accounting for Comcast Advertising, Carol oversees the financial accounting and reporting for linear and interactive affiliate partnership sales. In this role, she is a trusted partner and advisor to internal and external teams in affiliate partnerships.

Earlier in her career, after gaining experience on Comcast Cable’s Corporate Accounting & Marketing Analytics team within Corporate Marketing, Carol joined the Content Acquisition department in 2006. Over the next 7 years, as she advanced from Manager to Director, she led a finance team that managed all content acquisitions (+500 contracts) from a financial and compliance perspective as the multibillion-dollar annual programming budget grew. During these years, this content was crucial in achieving year-over-year net growth in the customer base as viewers migrated to digital platforms.

In 2013, Carol moved into a risk management and business integrity role as an Engagement Principal and Director for Comcast’s Internal Audit department. Here, she oversaw a team responsible for corporate fraud investigations as well as the design and management of the company’s whistleblower reporting platform, ensuring the timely review and proper investigation of employee complaints.

The trajectory of Carol’s career began with accounting and auditor roles for companies like Turner Construction Co. and AXA Equitable Life. She holds an M.B.A. with a marketing concentration and a B.S. in accounting from La Salle University in Philadelphia. Carol resides in Berwyn, PA, with her family and is a long-time member of the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society.
